The companies
The list starts from Google Maps searches for garage door repair in every state (June 2026). Of 2,238 results we publish 2,105. 0 were the same business listed twice and are shown once. 41 weren't garage door companies (locksmiths, roofers, window installers, towing, mechanics…) or had no usable U.S. location. 92 more have neither a phone number nor a website, so there is nothing to contact in an emergency; they stay off the site until someone sends us a working number.
State and city come from each company's Google Maps address. 575 companies show only a service area on Google (no street address); their city is the nearest listed address to their map pin when it is within 12 miles, and the page says so. The old version of this site filed them under a "city" named after the state.
Services, hours and prices
In October 2026 we read each company's website (home page and up to four pages such as services or prices). 1583 websites could be read; 142 were down, pointed to another business or showed spam (we removed those links) and 80 blocked automatic reading. When a website names a service, we quote the sentence and link to the page. Hours come from Google Maps. Prices are figures that companies publish next to a specific job; general statements ("repairs typically cost…") are not used.
Call centres
Some "local" listings are call centres or lead services that pass jobs to whichever technician is free. We label a listing as a call centre when its website says so, when the same phone number is listed for three or more towns, or when it has a toll-free number and no address. They stay listed, but you'll know to ask who will come.
What we don't do
- No invented reviews, star ratings or "verified" badges. A Google rating is shown only with five or more reviews and labelled as Google data.
- No "24/7" or price unless the company says so on its website or Google profile.
- No paid placements: order depends on how much a company tells about itself and whether it can be reached.
- Photos are illustrative and labelled as such.
Visitor contributions
Visitors can vote badges, confirm a company is still in business, report a price or a waiting time, or ask a question, without an account. We store a one-way hash of the IP address only to count one vote per person, never the address itself. Prices, questions and corrections are read before they're published.
